Dinner Dance, Ferrari's Country Hotel, Preston, Lancashire

We would like to thank Chris Dewhurst for organising this fabulous event, which was run in February of this year:

The Dinner
Dance in aid of the Chordoma UK Cancer Research Charity took place at Ferrari’s
Country Hotel on Saturday 22nd February 2014, and approximately 200
guests attended the sell-out event.

The evening
started with a three course meal, followed by a raffle draw. The 15 prizes,
kindly donated by local businesses, family and friends, were given out to the
winners who attended the event. An auction also took place, and the four
donated items, including a match-day PNE Executive Box kindly donated by Dewhurst
Homes, a signed PNE shirt kindly donated by Life Matters Ltd, a Golfing day for
4 kindly donated by Hargreaves Perkins, and a Bed and Breakfast voucher for 4
kindly donated by Ferrari’s, raised £980. Father David then entertained
everyone with his Elvis routine, which was well received by all.

Dewhurst, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2008, gave a brief speech
thanking all the guests and businesses for attending and donating, Fr David for
his excellent and entertaining Elvis routine, Tom Eccles for kindly donating
his time to provide the music and keeping the guests entertained into the early
hours, and Ferrari’s for providing a quality meal and service. Chris gave
special mention to all his friends and family for their ongoing support and care,
and in particular Margaret Harrison and Joanne Robinson, who had given up so
much of their time to plan all the successful four events over the past ten

The Charity
event raised a total in excess of £6,600, meaning that a grand total of over £11,600
had been raised over the past ten months, which exceeded the originally hoped
for target of £10,000.
