Support Our 2025 London Marathon Runners

*Update*

Our Team Chordoma UK runners smashed it at this year's London Marathon! Together they've raised nearly £20,000 and counting for our vital work. While the race is over you can still support them. Congratulations to all!

Beau Marie Burton, who is running for her father Dominic who has thoracic chordoma. Beau achieved a remarkable time of 3.22 qualifying her for arguably the world’s most famous marathon in Boston 2026! Dominic Murphy made it to the finish line and we were delighted to arrange for him to witness Beau crossing the finish line from the accessible area of the finish line grandstand.  Beau raised a fantastic £1800 this time round which is wonderful given she ran the Reading 1./2 marathon last year for CUK and raised a healthy sum there too.

Caroline Patterson, who ran for her dear friend Fleur who has clival chordoma, raised £5500

Hannah Heslop, who ran in memory of our co-founder Susan Fitz-Gibbon, raised £1250

Ellie Wasserburgwho ran in memory of our co-founder Susan Fitz-Gibbon, raised £2400

Spencer King, who ran in memory of our co-founder Susan Fitz-Gibbon, raised £3400

Ben Danaher, who had a terrible mishap at mile 12 when he fell and badly snapped his femur. Thankfully medics on site speedily whisked him off to hospital where he had immediate surgery though rehab is going to take him some 6 months. Despite this horror, Ben raised some £4100, smashing through his target by 25%.

How your donation is spent

There is little funding available for research into this relentless bone cancer mainly because it is relatively rare, occurring in only 1 in 800,000 of the population. Without a focused approach to raising money for research into chordoma, little will change quickly.
